David Boyd is a former Chairman and CEO of Clyde Agriculture. Clyde was a major cotton, wool, wheat, mutton, lamb and beef producer with holdings spread across northern New South Wales and western Queensland. At the end of 2007 he retired as an executive and in 2009 he retired as a non-executive Director of Clyde and its parent Company, John Swire & Sons Pty Ltd. He is a non-executive Director of Tandou Limited and a Trustee of the McGarvie Smith Institute. Mr. Boyd has spent over 50 years working in Australian agriculture. Three years as a jackeroo in western Queensland, 28 years with the Dalgety organisation, including six years as the national General Manager of that company’s rural operations, and 21 years with Clyde. He has served on the Boards of Cotton Australia, the Australian Wool Exchange, Wool International, and Australian Wool Innovation Limited. He has been a member of the Textiles and Footwear Advisory Committee of CSIRO, and Chairman of the Darling Matilda Way Sustainable Region Advisory Committee of the Commonwealth Government’s Department of Transport and Regional Services.
